POWERWOLF have released the long-awaited first single from their upcoming album 'Wake Up The Wicked', out on July 26th. The single "1589" tells the story of Peter Stump, who lived near Cologne, Germany in the 16th century and is known today as "The Werewolf of Bedburg". After being vilified as a werewolf, the farmer confessed to several murders and was brutally executed on October 31st, 1589. This morbid story has since fascinated people around the world and has been picked up by National Geographic, among others.
For the video for "1589", POWERWOLF traveled to England to stage Stump's fate in the local dark woods. With carefully selected locations, countless cast and crew members and impressive special effects, they now present their most elaborate music video production to date, offering a very worthy first taste of what fans can expect from 'Wake Up The Wicked'.
